A render failed

Updated 2026-09-11

What the common failures mean, and what to try before writing in.

A failed render refunds its credits automatically. The message on the job says why; the common ones:

  • Clip too long or too large: the web editor takes clips up to 10 minutes and 500 MB. Trim or compress, or use the desktop app.
  • Unsupported file: use MP4 (H.264), MOV or WebM for video, JPG or PNG for photos. HEIC photos from an iPhone are fine.
  • A source could not be fetched: an asset was deleted after the plan was made. Re-add it and export again.
  • Timed out: the queue was busy. Try again in a few minutes; if it fails twice, write in with the time.
Still failing

Use Talk to a human and include the project name and roughly when it happened. We can see the job's log.
